This next ride has already been organised well nearly anyway. If i can help this little chap by what I am doing. then hay I will. He is going to need all the support he can get to live this world. More will be revealed later but that is just a taster for my next ride if I am able. Don't worry I will keep you posted lol but not just quite yet lol too soon. The date has been set>>>>>>>>>>> Wednesday September 1st 2010.Unless by some miricle somebody can help me fund it sooner he he he you can but ask. If they did the date would be Wednesday September 2nd 2009. Perhaps a little help is needed here. Take time out and help me think about this one.

Stu finishes big quest

Stuart Bliss raised more than £3,000 for MS UK.

Tuesday, 8.52am - A HOLIDAYMAKER from Nuneaton has raised more than £3,000 by travleling from Nuneaton to Chapel St Leonards in a specially-adapted wheelchair.

Stuart Bliss, 44, took around 23 hours to complete the mammoth journey but has proudly raised thousands for Multiple Scelerosis UK.

The dad of four said: "It was difficult and really tiring but I'm really pleased with myself.

"I'm really pleased I actually did it. I feel as if I've really achieved something."

Mr Bliss, himself an MS sufferer is a regular visitor to Chapel and the Skegness areas and has been coming since he was tiny.

He came up with the idea of what he has dubbed Stu's Big Quest when driving to the east coast on holiday.

He said: "We were coming to the east coast last year and I thought 'I can do this in my wheelchair'. My wife laughed so that made me even more determined to do it."

His family has been a great support as have people here and at home in Warwickshire.

He received a grand welcome at Happy Days caravan park in Trunch Lane, Chapel, where staff had reserved him and his two-man support team their own tables in the club with bubbly and banners welcoming him in.

Mr Bliss is planning to have at least a year off before he comes up with another adventurous fundraising scheme.

Hay Hay Hay. I went to the coast in my wheelchair. The experience was great. It was not a piece of cake believe me , but it was well worth it. The generator packed up, I got a couple of flatty's but people were papping there horn,s to boost us on. But do you know something it was well worth it . When we got to our finshing point at Happydays onTrunch lane we were presented with a cheque also a bottle of champagne and Skegness Standard came out to see us and we had photo shoots. It was lucky we had the in car charger, But many thanks to the Shell Garage on the A46 and the Pride of Lincoln on the A158 for charging my Batteries. It was one heck of Journey and as I said well worth the trip. Thanks to everybody who has shown interest in what I achieved and for all the Donations and pledges. And thanks to Ade for our Breakfast of what we all needed heheheheeheheheehe starving we were and hay hay spot on

Hay Rik you were right 286 hours to go and yes it is tick tick tick tick lol. I can't wait now. It is going to be such a big achievement to me and challenge. Check and double check and triple check and quadruple check the equipment. It is like hay not long now. Just around the corner. I am pleased everybody is taking this journey with me. Not in body but in thought. And I will fill this weblog up with pictures and short videos of my adventure. The weather has been fantastic he in the Midlands, I am hoping and praying it will be great on the day my Quest begins. If it is raining hay I am still leaving on that day July 2nd not far away. It's getting real close now and there excitement is here as well Preperation check and double check or perhaps triple check lol. I am not nervous. I am yeah heheehe just I can't wait and the support team are ready as well. You see some people say hay that is going to be easy? But you know something it's not, So what I am going to be sitting down in my wheelchair, But fighting the fatigue concentrating on other road users etc etc. But as I keep saying to myself lol if anyone can do it? Stu can do it. I know this is going to be hard for me very hard, But it is for a worthy cause.

Only 3 Weeks to go and everything is A.O.K. The Quest is in final preperation and the clock is ticking. I make it sound like a shuttle launch. OMG hehehe, it might as well be because this is a big thing to me. So it is T-Minus 667 hours and counting. Chapel challenge for brave Stuart

MONEY is pouring in for a multiple sclerosis sufferer who is undertaking a 100 mile quest on his customised wheelchair to raise cash for charity.

As revealed in the Heartland Evening News Stuart is embarking on a massive challenge of travelling from Nuneaton to Chapel Saint Leonard's in a bid to raise vital funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Since the challenge was first started the 44-year-old has raised a huge £2,993 and there is still five weeks to go before he hits the road.

He said: "I have raised £2,993 already for the charity and I just cannot believe that I have done that and I would like to thank everyone for their support so far.

"It is just unbelieveable, when I first started I aimed for a target of around £1,500 to £2,000, but to get nearly £3,000 so far is just great."

The Brendon Way-based resident will be taking to the road on July 2 for a journey which is around 100 miles, on his customised battery-powered powertrike wheelchair.

The journey has been well planned out with two support cars going along with Stuart on his quest following at all times.

The fundraiser added: "Some people may think that it is going to be easy because I am doing it in a battery powered wheelchair, but it is actually going to be a physical challenge and also a mental one for me as well.

"I am just really looking forward to it and want to get it done, there are still five weeks to go and I just hope that that goes quickly because I am really looking forward to it now."

Now the story has been picked up by the national news and Stuart will be seen on the 'Your News' section of Channel Five News.

He said: "I just cannot believe how things have took off with the money and the amount of attention that I have been getting as well, it's just great that I am getting so much support and I would like to thank everyone."

The Multiple Sclerosis Society is the UK's largest charity for people affected by MS. The society funds research, runs respite care centres, provides grants, education and training on MS.

I did not realize that the roads from here to the coast were all mainly down hill. Hay Hay. We have just come back from Chaple Saint Leonards and it was great. The weather was with us O yes. And hello to Adon, Breakfast was great at **** Gemini's **** the Best starter of the day. And thankyou ***** HappyDays ***** for displaying my Quest, I was quite shocked. Hay Hay I am well known at the East Coast. We were going round ingoldmells market and I was pledged £20.00 pounds from this lady and her husband her name was Maggie. ( Hello Maggie !!!!) I am going to wheel the grounds of my Quest this weekend coming as it is bank holiday! I will be looking at my Quest more closely and when I get there perhaps have a pint at the Happy Days Club.

We are going to the coast for my Wifes Birthday as we do about this time of the year and to see some old friends. But this gives me the chance to see what I am up against heheheheeheheehe. And well I am doing this for a good cause. So hay hay people July 2nd is getting very close and I can't wait. I am really looking forward to this Quest.

Hay Hay 99 days to go. I have the papers coming round again tomorrow to be taking photo's and listen to my plight and Quest. Nuneaton Evening Telegraph. hay hay. I don't want fame. I just want the Desease to be reckognised more. You know I was in the local shop the other day and there new shop assistant had never ever heard of the Desease and well that was quite shocking. She was in her late 20's. I AM STARTING TO GET THAT MUSHROOM FEELING AGAIN. It,s a shame.

Hay Hay. Well time is moving really fast now and thanks too everyone for you well wishes. Preparing to do this Quest has taught me one thing and to be honest it hs made me realise. IF YOU DON'T ASK! YOU DON'T GET. I was quite shy at first in doing this, but you some how seem to pluck up the courage. So yes I cannot wait until 4.00 am July 2nd. Yes Yes Yes. You do meet all walks of life you really do and it puts a perspetive on the way people treat you and also the way they think. It,s been alright and there are still good peole in this world. The trip is going to be hard and I am almost positive I will make the T.V. I have been on the local radio several times. So yes hopefully the T .V. is next. HAY HAY 2ND JULY JUST A FEW MONTHS AWAY. Its not about me and what I am about to try and do. It,s making M.S. More aware to the public and that is what I am trying to do.

Massive challenge for gutsy Stuart

A MULTIPLE sclerosis sufferer is undertaking a 100 mile quest on his customised wheelchair to raise vital funds to help a charity.

Stuart Bliss will be embarking on a massive challenge of travelling from Nuneaton to Chapel Saint Leonard's in a bid to swell the coffers of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

The Brendon Way-based resident will be taking to the road on July 2 for the journey which is around 100 miles, on his customised battery-powered powertrike wheelchair.

So far, the 44-year-old already has raised more than £2,000 in sponsorship, but is hoping that more people will follow suit and do their bit for the charity.

Mr Bliss thought up the idea of doing the challenge last year and since then he has been preparing for the task.

He said: "I am really really pleased with the way that it is going so far and the fact that so many people are supporting me.

"I am hoping to do the challenge over two or three days, the plan is to get it done in two days, but I suffer from fatigue with the condition and we have a third there just in case.

"I'm looking forward to doing it and just want it to be here now, July 2 could not come around soon enough for me.

"So far £2,403 has been pledged to me through sponsorship, but if anyone else wants to sponsor me then they are more than welcome to do so."

The journey has been well planned out with two support cars going along with Stuart on his quest following him at all times.

And it has become a family affair for the father of four, as his son Eric will be just one of the people taking part as one of the support team members.

Other multiple sclerosis sufferers will be doing their bit for the event as well as they will be meeting Stuart and doing a few miles with him along the route.

Stuart has been living with multiple sclerosis for the last 13 years, but he is determined not to let the condition stop him from completing the challenge.

As well as all the money raised through sponsorship, he has also had support from businesses such as Jacksons of Arley, but if any other businesses want to sponsor him it's a case of the more the merrier.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is the most common disabling neurological condition. MS is the result of damage to myelin - a protective sheath surrounding nerve fibres of the central nervous system. When myelin is damaged, this interferes with messages between the brain and other parts of the body.

The Multiple Sclerosis Society is the UK's largest charity for people affected by MS. The society funds research, runs respite care centres, provides grants, education and training on MS

The clock is ticking and there is only 111 days left to go and it is really getting exciting. I am nearly prepared fully and well really really looking forward to doing this Quest. I am glad I thought of this Quest and to try and help people who suffer the way do, and things seem to be rolling along smoothly. I am not sure but it seems to be getting closer much faster than I thought but the sooner July 2nd is here the better, HAY HAY It is not to get it over an done with it is to enjoy the adventure and experience of travelling via pure battery power to the East Coast. I wrote a poem further back in my blogg and it is true you know, Time stands still for No one. my o my. HAY HAY The 2nd July not far away.

Just wanted to show you the equipment I have purchased for the Quest. I suppose you could say it is determination that drives me look at this lot. My children supplied the Money lol. It;s what they gave me for christmas. So hay I put it to very good use. Call them children, well they are my children but all grown up now. Good on ya kids.

You could say pretty much prepared the cooker was donated by Jacksons of Arley. Even got an 850w Generator Just in case to charge the Batteries. It's ok having the in car charger it should do the job. But I know the Generator will most definaetly do the job. I have 3 sets of wheels that is including the ones on my wheelchair plus 4 more spare tyres. Also 4 PMR Radios as you can see. 2 spare centre pins just incase. I have 2 batteries with another one on the way. That means 2 N.I.M.H. Batteries and 1 L.A.G. Battery. We will be using our mobile phones to be taking pictures as mine can take over a 1000 plus we have a Camcorder as well for documentation as you can see in the pictures. We have pots and pans etc etc I am going down the Army Surplus shop to get some Mess Tins unless somebody has any they want to donate. We are pretty much prepared but there will allways be something lol.
